Reporting to Manager, Wastewater Operations and Maintenance in the City Utilities Division, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Perform preventative maintenance and emergency response activities on both the wastewater collection and water distribution systems (Class 2 facilities)

· Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) guidelines, and maintain required documentation and record keeping

· Participate in team development and implementation of operational/maintenance programs to meet divisional objectives and the needs of our customers and infrastructure

· Participate in the on-duty rotation (after-hours) for Operator in Charge (OIC) responsibilities in accordance with applicable certifications

· Provide functional and operational training as required

The Operations Technologist is a diversified role that reports to the Supervisor of Operations Support and provides support to the Operations Branch of Engineering and Public Works (EPW). This role administers Road Occupancy Permits (ROP) and Municipal Consents (MC) and provides technical support to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and best practices related to Roads, Stormwater, Water, Wastewater, Solid Waste Management, Streetlights, and Mosquito Control. This position will also support implementation, continual improvement, and data entry and analysis of various programs and activities including, but not limited to, infrastructure locates, streetlight repairs, winter maintenance, stormwater inspections and sampling, responding to customer service requests, and fleet/fuel systems. This position coordinates and assists with initiatives related to maintaining compliance with the new Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approval (CLI-ECA) for stormwater management and sewage collection. This role also provides technical assistance with procuring supplies, equipment, and services as well as developing Council reports, workplans and operational programs. Qualifications and Requirements: • College diploma or university education in Civil Engineering or Environmental Technology or related discipline (engineering, sciences). • Eligibility for, and willingness to obtain the Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians • Three (3) years of previous municipal government or equivalent experience in Municipal Operations or related Public Works infrastructure • Valid Province of Ontario class G driver’s license Salary Range: $77,350 - $90,999. The Public Works Compliance Coordinator fulfills a diversified role that reports to the Supervisor of Operations Support and provides technical and operational support, as well as coordination for Public Works and other Town departments to ensure Town activities remain in compliance with appropriate legislation, regulations, best management practices, and quality standards for drinking water and wastewater. This role acts as Alternate Quality Management System Representative and assists with maintaining the Town’s Drinking Water Quality Management System. The role reviews applicable Acts and regulations and informs the Town of updates and changes. This role is responsible for coordinating/participating in audits and inspections with auditors and regulators pertaining to the Town’s large and small drinking water systems, sanitary collection system, and stormwater management system; preparing regulatory and Council reports; reviewing and interpreting technical reports and legislation; assisting with Municipal Drinking Water License (MDWL), Drinking Water Works Permit (DWWP), and Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approval (CLI-ECA) renewals; facilitating meetings; developing plans and programs such as sampling, monitoring, and flushing programs; tracking staff’s licenses, certifications, training hours, and completing renewal and upgrade applications; scheduling and providing training; and data analysis and filing. Qualifications and Requirements: • College diploma or university education in Civil Engineering or Environmental Technology or related discipline (engineering, sciences) • Eligibility for, and willingness to obtain the Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation from the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians (OACETT) • Three (3) years of previous municipal government or equivalent experience in Municipal Operations or related Public Works infrastructure, in a compliance capacity Salary Range: $87,506 - $102,950.
