Asset Reliability Manager

Job Description

The Asset Reliability Manager works under general direction of the Director of Business Development to assist Project Managers, Program Managers and Business Development Managers in the establishment of asset management programs that will restore or extend the effective service life of water infrastructure assets, particularly large diameter valves.  The incumbent will be based in the Mississauga office and work internally with colleagues throughout Pure, Wachs and other Xylem brands; and within client organizations to provide recommendations for asset management strategies and repair and rehabilitation methods; assist in developing processes and procedures to capture information for high-level and complex decision-making in optimizing the lifespan of utility assets.

 

Duties

  • Provide day-to-day technical and field support to ensure a high-performance, customer-service-oriented work environment;
  • Assist regional Business Development and Project Delivery teams with feasibility, application, planning and data analysis as it relates to utility asset management;
  • Provide technical support and/or lead internal and client driven asset management practices;
  • Provide field support and planning activities as necessary for project implementation;
  • Assist with the intermediate and long-range financial planning activities, strategy, budget preparation and administration for the utility asset management programs;
  • Provide consultation in the development and implementation of a high performing utilities asset management program which incorporate computerized maintenance management systems;
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations colleagues regarding the rehabilitation, repair or replacement of utilities assets;
  • Help identify and develop customer service level goals and performance measures;
  • Analyze program data; recognize issues and trends; identify options, consequences, and develop conclusions and recommendations; make presentations;
  • Provide consultation in the development and implementation of client asset management goals and objectives;
  • Collaborate with staff and management across the organization and with outside clients to clearly identify, explain and communicate their project and/or program involvement and the goals, expectations, objectives, policies, priorities, and tasks associated with their project and/or program;
  • Assist in the development of engineering standards that reduce asset life cycle costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a combination of education, skills and experience in managing water infrastructure assets
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience operating, maintaining and rehabilitating large and critical valves in Municipal Water Transmission and/or Distribution systems
  • Familiarity and experience with the AWWA M44 standard
  • Minimum Level 2 Water Distribution Certificate (or short-term ability to obtain one) required

Travel Requirement

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Unexpired Canadian Passport
  • Valid Driver’s License
