Township of Stirling-Rawdon is seeking an

Assistant Environmental Manager (Alternate O.R.O Water and Wastewater Operations)

Position Background:

The Township of Stirling-Rawdon seeks a highly motivated individual to assist in the day to day operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater system and Landfill operations. This position will be the Alternate O.R.O and assist with job organization and management issues. The successful applicant will have prior experience as an operator in charge and will be familiar with all aspects of the utility in regards to Source Water Protection, Health and Safety, Asset Management and maintenance of all municipally owned assets.

Job Description and Duties:

• Operate and maintain a Class 1 Wastewater Treatment Facility, Class 1 Water Distribution System,
• Class 2 Wastewater Collection System and Class one Water Treatment Facility.
• Assist in the supervision of staff at plants and distribution/ collection systems
• Process interpretation and adjustment according to lab results.
• Maintenance and calibrate process equipment
• Process troubleshooting and optimization
• Assist in the rotating on-call schedule
• Assist in ensuring compliance for federal and provincial legislation
• Provide input for the Drinking Water Source Protection Plan
• Assist in the implementation of the DWQMS
• Assist in the repair of underground infrastructure
• Assist with the Management of the Landfill Operations

Profile of sought person:

• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Be motivated, available and responsible
• Good attendance, flexibility and interpersonal skills
• Good computer and technical skills
• Electrical skills would be considered an asset

Job Requirements:

• Diploma in environmental, civil or skilled trade background
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Level II Wastewater Collection Certificate
• Level I Water Distribution Certificate
• Level I Water Treatment Certificate
• Level I Wastewater Treatment Certificate

Position Specifics:

Salary: To be determined based on Stirling-Rawdon Management Pay Scale
Benefits Package: Full benefits package available after three months
Probation Period: Six months to one year
Schedule: Full-Time / days and on-call, when necessary
Status: Permanent Full time (Non-Union)
