Manager, Environmental Services (Full-Time)

Reporting to the Public Works, Engineering and Environmental Services Director, the Manager, Environmental Services is responsible to oversee the safety and reliability of the municipal water supply through the administration and management of the water treatment plant, distribution system and contracted facilities. The position is also responsible to oversee the operations of the wastewater treatment plant and sewage pumping stations. The main duties and responsibilities for this position are in the areas of: management of division operations; long-term infrastructure planning; monitoring and ensuring compliance of the water and wastewater systems in accordance with applicable legislation; purchasing/budgets/reports; staffing matters; coordinating with other divisions; and, assisting with maintenance of the operations centre.

Qualifications include a degree/diploma in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field, plus a C.E.T. designation (P. Eng. designation would be an asset). Applicants should have 10 years related experience in the water/wastewater industry including 5 in a project management or supervisory role and water/wastewater operator experience.

Normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, usually Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; flexibility in scheduling is necessary as there may be the occasional requirement to attend to functions outside of normal work hours, respond to urgent matters, and/or to work overtime as needed. The salary range for this position is $108,409.60 to $131,726.40 per year.
