Job Title:  Senior Applications Engineer

The Senior Applications Engineer is the primary technical resource for the company and is responsible for actively driving and managing the evaluation stage of the sales process, project management and after sales customer service. Working in conjunction with the outside sales team and the Customer Support Group (CSG), the Senior Applications Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical and commercial issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Senior Applications Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendor partners and all Metcon staff.
The Senior Applications Engineer has the added requirement to use their expertise, experience and knowledge of more complex systems/projects to guide others, offering both technical and commercial advice.


•            Technical applications support
•            Cost estimating and vendor (partner) pricing support, with focus on complex and large systems
•            Insure timely completion of proposals/submittals
•            Drafting proposals for tenders and other complex system projects
•            Review/update internal processes in order to create streamlined efficiency


The following are the principal qualifications for this position:
BS in Engineering or equivalent successful experience in a similar industry role.

Minimum of 10 years of technical support and customer service experience.
Technical expertise demonstrated through understanding of fluid dynamics principles, electronics and instrumentation.
Several years’ experience within the municipal water / waste water industry is an asset.

•            Effective selling and negotiating strategies & techniques.
•            Judgment & decision-making skills.
•            Ability to multi-task.
