Student Water Works
Infrastructure Services Department
Contract dates: May 4, 2020 to September 4, 2020

 

The Infrastructure Department requires a student to assist the Town Water Works Operators.  Duties will include assisting with maintenance and repair work on water mains, valves, hydrants and other appurtenances in the water distribution system; assisting with maintenance and repair work on pumps, valves and other equipment; assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of Town-owned properties and facilities; and assisting with traffic control including being a traffic control person. This position may require working various shifts, including evenings and weekends.  Normal hours of work for this position will be up to forty-two (42) hours per week.

Students must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary education program, and preference is given to those returning to full-time post-secondary studies in the fall.   Preference will be given to students who have their Water Operator in Training license(s).

Hourly Range: under review

All student interviews will be scheduled between February 19 and February 28, 2020. Please note that all student positions are subject to budget and grant approval, and thus may be subject to change.
