Summary:

Works under the direction of the Supervisor or designate in the following service areas:1) Sanitation Operations, 2) Golf Course Maintenance, 3) Wastewater Treatment Operations, 4) Sewer Operations, 5) Parks & Recreation, 6) Roads & Transportation, 7) Facilities, 8) Water Operations, 9) Landfill, 10) Forestry Operations.  Performs a variety of duties related to the construction, repair and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, facilities and City owned properties, parks and open spaces.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of Grade 12 in the Province of Ontario or equivalent.

Specialized Training and Licenses:

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance operations and ability to work in a crew environment.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR Certificate.
  • Valid Class G driver’s licence or DZ driver’s licence is an asset for some positions.

Shift work will be required with shifts occurring on all days of the week.

These are temporary positions up to 26 weeks.

NOTE – Applicants selected for an interview will be required to submit the following:

  • Copy of Grade 12 diploma/transcript or equivalent
  • Current Police Information Check (dated within 6 months)
  • Three work related references (names, phone numbers and emails)
