Water and Sewer Operator

WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENT

You will deliver superior service and safe drinking water to our residents through the maintenance and operation of Water and Wastewater infrastructure, including water sampling, well house maintenance, water main flushing, maintenance and repair to water and wastewater infrastructure, traffic control, the operation of SCADA and the investigation and follow-up to public enquiries.

We’re looking for a Water & Sewer Operator that holds Water Distribution and Supply Class II AND Wastewater Collection Class II licenses. Consideration will be given to candidates who hold Water Distribution and Supply Class I AND Wastewater Collection Class I. You are computer literate with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. You’re highly detail oriented and have excellent problem solving and customer service skills. You know that taking On Call in regular rotation is part of the job and possess a valid Class “G” Drivers license. Familiarity with the Drinking Water Quality Management Standard, drinking water regulations and possession of a water treatment license is an asset.

This is a full-time union position with OMERS and group benefits provided. The probationary hourly rate for candidates with a Water Distribution and Supply Class II AND Wastewater Collection Class II is $27.42/hour, moving to $29.03/hour with annual movement until the job rate of $32.26 per the CUPE Collective pay grid.

For candidates with Water Distribution and Supply Class I AND Wastewater Collection Class I, the probationary hourly rate is $23.52/hour, moving to $24.90/hour with annual movement until the job rate of $27.67 per the CUPE Collective pay grid. Other water license levels will be considered at a different pay rate than noted above.
